چکیده

Vehicle tracking and classification is an important application of computer vision. There exist mainly two types of tracking techniques: Appearance-based tracking and Feature-based tracking. Appearance-based techniques generally require a model or template of the target to be tracked. However the model needs to be robust to the multitude of deformations possible in the course of the target’s movement. This research explores the use of a collection of view based templates, instead of a single template, to accurately trace the contours of the tractor-trailers in moving traffic. The tracking begins with creation of a template sequence by manually processing a segment of traffic which contains an exemplar of the desired class of tractortrailers. The processing involves manually segmenting the tractor-trailer from the rest of the scene in each frame. The template sequence is intended to capture the appearance of the vehicle in all possible poses as it moves through the lane. This collection is then used to detect and track similar tractor-trailers during their movement through the lane. Salient features, such as gradient magnitude information, are incorporated for better alignment of the contour during tracking.

A nonlinear PI and backstepping based controller for tractor-steerable trailer influenced by slip

Autonomous guidance of agricultural vehicles is vital as mechanized farming production becomes more prevalent. It is crucial that tractor-trailers are guided with accuracy in both lateral and longitudinal directions, whilst being affected by large disturbance forces, or slips, owing to uncertain and undulating terrain. Successful research has been concentrated on trajectory control which can pr...

Trajectory Tracking Weeled Mobile Robot Using Backstepping Method with Connection off Axle Trailer

The connection of the tractor to the inactive trailer or motor vehicle causes a motion control problem when turning in the screw, forward or backward movements and high speeds. This is due to the inactive trailer being controlled by the tracking using a physical link that is not affected by the movement. Trailers usually take tracks under these conditions. This phenomenon is called Jack Knife. ...

Electronic Control of Motor Axles of Forestry Trailers

Timber transport in the forest is a very complex operation, and expensive from an energy point of view. Furthermore, in some cases, this operation can be very difficult and dangerous in unfavorable conditions of the road surface, which mainly occur in winter (frozen ground) and in spring (muddy ground). The goal of this study was to develop an innovative transmission hydraulic control system fo...

Analysis of Inclusion of Wood Forwarding into a Skidding Model

Nacrtak Mechanized felling was introduced in Slovenia at the beginning of this decade, and before that Slovenian forestry relied on motor manual felling and tractor skidding or cable crane yarding. In this research we are dealing with wood forwarding. Model skidding maps were built, using terrain classification and decision support systems for forwarders and tractor trailers. The purpose of thi...

Cascaded VFO Control for Non-Standard N-Trailer Robots

Articulated mobile robots consisting of a tractor and passively off-hooked trailers belong to a class of highly nonlinear, nonholonomic, structurally unstable, differentially nonflat, and underactuated dynamic systems. Due to the mentioned properties of their kinematics, motion control problems related to N-trailer robots (N-trailers) are non-trivial and challenging. Cascaded control strategy p...
